HALF THERE
I know a boy who fell into the ocean as he was travelling towards the land.
A curly wave carried him away into the deep.
Awake or asleep, he floated in circles for what seemed to be a lifetime.
It turned out to be a lifetime.
Then, just before he disappeared, he cried. Unable to swallow the coarse disappointment that his feet had always been too high up to reach the ocean floor, and his head way too low to ever touch the sky.
The curly wave closed his salty eyes as it rolled over.
