this project is a collaboration with pawel dunajko

a poet from wroclaw

benches:

Pawel called me one day in the summer of 2004 and said he’d found these memorial plates on the back of the benches along the promenade in Brighton. And he had picked ten of those and written five poems responding to five tables out of those ten. He would send me those beautiful poems and ask me to come up with images to complete them. That would be my interpretation of his poetry. The remaining five plates were supposed to be mine. I was to make images of them, and then send them back to pawel so that he could respond with poems. In that respect, we’d come up with ten images written over by ten poems.

A perfect Decalogue.

This is how far we’ve come so far.
